Jonathon Tarpey is a contract attorney working with Causey and Ye Law. As a general practice attorney, Jon practices in a wide variety of legal areas. Jon is a Des Moines native and graduated from Drake Law School. When working with clients Jon always strives for achieving the best outcome for that client’s unique situation. Whether he is building exculpatory evidence in a criminal case or competitively negotiating a resolution in a divorce-custody matter, Jon is dedicated to providing diligent and quality representation for his clients on a personal level and based on their specific expectations for the case.

Jon has experience in both criminal and civil litigation in Iowa. Additionally, he has worked with many immigrant clients to help them prepare visa, asylum, and permanent resident applications. Jon then represents these clients at their USCIS interviews and provides advice and counsel at every step of the application process.

Having represented many clients in Children In Need of Assistance, Juvenile delinquency, and family law proceedings, Jon has a unique understanding of the various legal issues and implications facing families in their most vulnerable moments. He works tirelessly to protect his client’s interest and to help them overcome the problems facing their families.

Jon also focuses much of his practice on Criminal Litigation involving misdemeanors and traffic court across several Iowa counties. He emphasizes that communication is the key to resolving these cases favorably for his clients. Jon is active and engaged in discussing the merits of the case with his clients and preparing defenses and evidence for trial. Jon also represents clients on probation violation hearings and before the Parole Board.
